EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

MIM structured the courses to meet the requirements of individual states and local areas, anywhere from 200 hours to 1000 hours. Some states currently do not regulate massage therapists, but MIM believes it is only a matter of time before they do. We encourage our graduates to take enough hours to qualify to sit for the NCE. The NCBTMB requires a minimum of 500 hours of training. The individual prospective student has the responsibility to verify and comply with local requirements.

MIM objectives for all students:

  • Provide training and skills to pass NCE
  • High retention of professional qualifications
  • Assist students with business skills and ethics
  • Demonstrate correct massage therapy principles

Student objectives:

  • Qualify for entry-level employment for massage therapy upon completion of 500 -1000 hours (clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation, chiropractic office, etc.)
  • Complete all course study materials with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher (see page 8 and 9 for listing of all study areas)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multiple techniques (Swedish Massage, AcuTherapy, Polarity, Shiatsu, etc.)
  • Participate with Hands-On training in related massage and therapeutic techniques.
  • Receive a Massage Therapist Graduation Certificate as proof of gained knowledge and skills for success.
