“I was hesitant at first on taking  their courses because I believed that its really going to be difficult for me as a man.  But learning that their founder himself is a guy, I eventually got comfortable in this new career I am taking.  I am happy where I am now and I am acknowledging them for everything.”                             Joey 26, Trenton UT

Get top quality Distance Education in the field of Massage Therapy and Therapeutic Bodywork in the convenience of your own home. Ask your local licensors for education requirements you need to become a licensed Myotherapist. MIM recommends 520 hours of academic and practical training to better equip you in the field. We welcome nurses, chiropractors, licensed massage therapists, hobbyists, and aspiring individuals to take part in our one of a kind education program. Join the thousands of men and women nationwide who are finding fulfillment in the health care specialty known as Myotherapy (muscle therapy). Some of them became Myotherapists after experiencing first hand the remarkable benefits of this art of deep-muscle massage a powerful witness to its effectiveness. Many Myotherapy practitioners have their own business and are their own boss. They set their own hours, control their own destiny. Some work only part time. Other Myotherapists are the valued employees of hospitals, resorts, cruise ships, health clubs, chiropractors, and spas. They meet interesting people, receive administrative support, and enjoy travel opportunities. Whether they are self-employed or work for someone else, Myotherapists find joy, excitement, and financial rewards in using their knowledge and skill to help people feel better...to make them happier.

For 20 years Myotherapy Institute of Massage has been training students for professional licensing through instructional multimedia. The techniques and modalities taught by MIM are based on the writings of western practitioner's dating back to the 1800's, 3000 years of eastern methodology and proven effective as Foster's own clientele regained their health and wellbeing. The diamond among so many of Mr. Foster's techniques is his own. It is a light touch technique he developed to relieve stress and promote pain relief for his own clinic. He named this light touch technique – AcuTherapy. This technique is so gentle that babies, the elderly, ill and injured people have experienced relief from their pain. His philosophies and caring for others are evidenced throughout his book "Tapping into the Secrets of Wellness." Sold at Barnes & Noble, Amazon and in our Store.

2) Application for transfer credit must include official transcripts showing a "C" grade or better in the course.

Required Practicum Curricula:

When Mr. Foster first developed the distance learning study program, there were question on how the practicum training would work with self-paced studies. His answer was mentors – successful practitioners willing to share their knowledge and experience with newcomers. Today, that idea is known as MIM’s regional instructors and training centers. Prior to attempting practicum techniques, MIM requires the student to gain a base knowledge. The student listens to CD lectures, observes the massage techniques demonstrated on the Beginning Massage DVDs and then they practice their new skills on family and friends. We encourage the student to gain some knowledge of anatomy prior to attending practicum classes. Then the instructor verifies that the student has a basic understanding and is ready to progress with additional knowledge and techniques during training sessions.

Seminars & Regional Training:

Two practicum training options are available: seminars at Salt Lake City or MIM approved regional instructors. Practicum training in Salt Lake City is scheduled during, June and/or October for two weeks at a time. Weather permitting, a third seminar maybe scheduled in March. Regional training fees are paid to the individual regional instructor and vary according to the area.
